SHEI Magazine is a biannual 80 page full color print magazine produced and distributed by students at the University of Michigan. I served as Photo Editor for three semesters during which I oversaw the conception, production, and editing of 15 photoshoots for print. SHIFT Magazine, SHEI Magazine's monthly digital edition, was founded in December 2014 to allow regular members greater creative control over the content we produce. As one of the founding members, I served as Content Editor for the first five issues, helping with everything from early brand development to shoot approval and image selection for these foundation issues. SHIFT is fundamentally different from its parent publication not only in that regular members pitch, execute and edit the shoots, but that we were able to experiment with greater levels of multi media integration and cross campus collaborations with a diverse array of creative student-lead organizations including our ongoing collaboration with Empty Mug Records and our monthly column RADAR that highlights entrepreneurs on the University of Michigan Campus. I worked as a Staff Designer for the Michigan Daily for one year prior to my tenure as Photo Editor at SHEI Magazine. At the Daily, I produced the front page design, as well as the B-Side Arts insert once a week using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to produce designs and illustration in line with the Daily's style guide and editorial goals for the articles in print and online.
